1. About us

OpenForecast is a trading name of OpenForecast Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11391477), registered office at 36 Garfield Avenue, Lancaster, LA1 5ET, United Kingdom. Contact: mail@openforecast.org. These terms govern your use of this website and your purchase of training courses through it. Consultancy engagements are governed by a separate written agreement between us and the client; where there is any conflict, that agreement takes precedence.

2. Services

We provide professional services in demand forecasting and inventory management: live online training courses (delivered via Zoom) and consultancy. All services are delivered remotely. We sell no physical goods.

3. Training course bookings

A booking is confirmed once payment has been received (via a payment link) or an invoice has been issued and accepted in writing. After confirmation you will receive joining instructions by email before the course start date. Course dates, times, and the delivery schedule are stated at the point of booking. We reserve the right to make reasonable adjustments to course content to keep it current.

Group rates apply to bookings of three or more participants from the same organisation, made in a single transaction.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are stated in pounds sterling (GBP) at the point of sale. Card payments are processed by Stripe. Corporate clients may request payment by invoice; invoices are payable within the terms stated on the invoice. If VAT becomes chargeable on our services, it will be shown at the point of sale or on the invoice.

5. Cancellations, transfers, and refunds

For training courses:

• Cancellations made 14 or more days before the course start date receive a full refund.
• Cancellations made fewer than 14 days before the course start date receive a 50% refund, or you may transfer your booking to a later running of the course at no charge.
• You may substitute another participant from your organisation at any time before the course starts, at no charge — just let us know by email.
• No refund is given for non-attendance without prior notice.

If we cancel or reschedule a course, you may choose between a full refund and a transfer to the new date. Our liability for a cancelled course is limited to the fee paid.

If you are purchasing as a consumer (not in the course of business), you have a statutory 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If the course begins within that period, you consent to delivery starting before the cancellation period ends, and the refund of any cancellation will reflect the portion of the course already delivered.

6. Intellectual property

Course materials (slides, notes, exercises, datasets) are the copyright of OpenForecast unless otherwise stated. They are licensed to participants for their personal professional use and internal use within their organisation. They may not be republished, resold, or used to deliver training to third parties without our written permission.

Our open-source software packages (including smooth, greybox, legion) are licensed separately under their respective open-source licences, which govern their use independently of these terms.

7. No warranty on outcomes

Forecasting is the study of uncertainty. Our training and advice reflect current best practice and are provided with reasonable skill and care, but we do not warrant any particular business outcome, forecast accuracy level, or financial result from applying the methods we teach or recommend. Decisions made on the basis of our training or advice remain your responsibility.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, our total liability arising from any training course booking is limited to the fees paid for that booking, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, or loss of business.

Content on this website, including the blog, is provided for general information and does not constitute professional advice for any specific situation. We may change or withdraw website content at any time.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers resident elsewhere in the UK may rely on the law and courts of their home nation.
